1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Pocket SQL ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

These Terms constitute a legal agreement between you ("User", "you") and Our Apps World ("Developer", "we", "us", "our"), the developer of Pocket SQL.

2. Description of Service

Pocket SQL is a mobile and desktop application that provides a MySQL client interface. The App allows you to:

  • Connect to MySQL and MySQL-compatible database servers (such as MariaDB)
  • Browse database schemas, tables, and columns
  • View, edit, insert, and delete data with a staged editing workflow (Safe Mode)
  • Write and execute SQL queries
  • Create and manage scheduled database backups
  • Import and export data in various formats (SQL, CSV, Excel)
  • Store connection credentials securely on your device

Important: Pocket SQL operates entirely on your device. We do not provide hosting, database servers, proxy services, or cloud infrastructure. The App connects directly to database servers that you configure and have authorized access to.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use Pocket SQL. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree that:

  • You have lawful authorization to access any database server you connect to using Pocket SQL
  • You will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and third-party agreements when using the App
  • You are solely responsible for any queries you execute and any modifications you make to database content
  • You will not use the App to access databases without proper authorization or to engage in any illegal activity
  • You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of the data you access, modify, or export
  • You understand that database operations (including but not limited to INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, DROP) can result in permanent data changes

5. Account & Credential Security

Pocket SQL stores your database connection credentials in hardware-backed secure storage on your device. You are responsible for:

  • Keeping your device secure with an appropriate screen lock
  • Enabling the optional biometric lock feature for additional security
  • Protecting any exported vault files and their associated passwords
  • Ensuring your database credentials are appropriately scoped and follow the principle of least privilege

We are not responsible for unauthorized access to your database servers resulting from a compromised device, weak database credentials, or failure to secure exported backup files.

6. Safe Mode & Data Editing

Pocket SQL includes a "Safe Mode" feature that stages database modifications before applying them. While Safe Mode is designed to reduce the risk of accidental data changes:

  • Safe Mode is a convenience feature, not a guarantee against data loss
  • Once changes are "published" (applied), they are executed against your database as standard SQL operations
  • Published changes are recorded in a local audit trail, but this does not provide database-level rollback capability
  • The audit trail is stored locally and will be lost if the app is uninstalled without exporting it

You are ultimately responsible for reviewing and verifying all changes before publishing them.

7. Backups & Data Export

The App's backup feature creates SQL dumps of your databases. You understand that:

  • Backups are created as .sql dump files and stored locally on your device or in your Google Drive account
  • We do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or recoverability of backups
  • Backup integrity depends on your database server's state and network connectivity at the time of the backup
  • Restoring a backup will replace existing data in the target database — this operation is destructive and irreversible
  • You should verify backup integrity independently for mission-critical data
  • Scheduled backups depend on the operating system's background task capabilities, which may be restricted by battery optimization settings

8. Third-Party Services

Google Drive Integration

If you opt to use Google Drive for backup storage, you agree to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Pocket SQL accesses Google Drive using the drive.file scope, which limits access to only files created by the App.

Database Servers

Pocket SQL connects directly to database servers you configure. We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for, the availability, security, or data handling practices of the database servers you connect to.

App Distribution Platforms

Pocket SQL is distributed through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Your use of these platforms is governed by their respective terms of service:

  • Google Play Terms of Service
  • Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions

9. Intellectual Property

Pocket SQL, including its source code, design, user interface, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of Our Apps World and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App's code or assets
  • Use the Pocket SQL name, logo, or branding without written permission
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels

  • Saved connection credentials
  • Query history and starred queries
  • Local backups
  • Audit trail
  • App preferences

Google Drive backups will persist in your Google Drive account and must be deleted separately if desired.

We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the App at any time without notice. Sections 10 (Disclaimer), 11 (Limitation of Liability), and 12 (Indemnification) shall survive any termination of these Terms.

  • Update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
  • Notify you through an in-app notification for material changes
  • Post the updated Terms on this page

Your continued use of the App after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
