Pocket SQL offers an optional Google Drive backup feature. When a user enables this feature, Pocket SQL uploads encrypted database backup files (.sql.gz) to the user's own Google Drive account. This is the only reason Pocket SQL requests Google Drive access. Pocket SQL uses the narrowest possible Google Drive API scope (drive.file) — it can only access files that it has created itself. Pocket SQL does not read, modify, or delete any other files in the user's Google Drive. No user data is shared with third parties. All database credentials and query history remain stored locally on the user's device.
